Abstract
This paper puts forward a meditation about post-truth, not in confrontation with truth but as the essence of truth and things in the present times. Thus, post-truth appears as a metaphysical decision that articulates the modes of posthuman existence. This meditation invokes Heidegger’s reflection on Modernity (1958[1939]), as well as Blumenberg’s analysis of basic metaphors (2008[1997]), Sadin’s considerations on artificial intelligence (2023, 2024) and Han’s non-things (2023). Its sources are philosophical but also literary. It suggests that the problems posed by post-truth are not epistemic but political. However, and for that reason, political praxis requires a new epistemic and ethical imagination.
