Abstract
This essay seeks to establish a relationship between art and politics based in the idea of the use of the body as a political manifestation. Specifically it deals with the problem of artistic experimentation as a means of configuring new ways of life. This practice, especially in regards to portraits, will be presented as a practice of deterritorializing the face to create lines of fugue at the level of significance of culture, anchored to a binary definition of sexuality.
