Abstract
In this essay I relate Zambrano's manuscripts about philosophy and education to her political works, which refer to democracy and its subject, the person. First, I address her manuscripts' pedadogical questions: the function of feelings, the phenomenology of scholarly life and the figure of the teacher. Second, I address the questions connected to democracy and the person, paying special attention to Horizontes del liberalismo and Persona y democracia. Third, I relate her educational thinking with her political anthropology of the person. Last, I will defend the teacher figure and emotional education as tools for improving our democratic societies.
