Abstract
In this essay the author provides an overview of the metaphysical bases of a theory of culture inspired by Rodriguez Huescar's and Ortega y Gasset's ideas. This article is divided in two parts. On the one hand, the first one focuses on what «culture» means in Ortega´s works and how is understood by Huescar. On the second hand, the reader will find an analysis of some interesting concepts like possibility, situation, vocation and some others which could be considered as metaphysical bases of the theory of culture shown before.
