Approach to the grammatical behavior of the pseudocopulative verb «antojarse» in Spain and Mexico

Abstract
Pseudocopulative verbs are included in nonverbal predication. However, the analysis of these verbs is not yet representative enough to establish general relationships among them. The purpose of this paper is to contribute to the clarification of the behavior of this group of verbs through the analysis of a modal pseudocopulative verb that adds to the assertion a series of contents that express the way in which reality is perceived, or experienced: antojarse. To carry out this research, we have used the Sketch Engine corpus, which has allowed us to obtain more than 7?000 cases of data from Spain and Mexico. The objective is to analyze the general properties of this verb and to determine, through a contrastive analysis, which are the most representative types of nouns and adjectives selected by the verb antojarse with which the structure «se + (dative) + antojar + adjective» appears.
