THE OLYMPIC ACADEMY OF COLOMBIA: GENESIS AND EVOLUTION 1992 – 2018

Abstract

This paper is the possibility of paying tribute to the founders of the Colombian Olympic Academy and at the same time gathering all the actions, processes and programs in a document that gives an account of its genesis and perpetuates the memory of the Colombian Olympic Academy –COA.

The article initially gives an account of the creation of the Colombian Olympic Committee and undertakes the events and processes that gave life to the Colombian Olympic Academy, COA, from its leaders, their actions and programs. It then seeks to bring together all the themes, places and dates of the sessions, lectures and Olympic Social Gatherings organized by the COA.

The sources for this article were consulted in national newspapers and in the library of the Colombian Olympic Committee, COC. In-person interviews and interviews mediated by virtual environments were also held for this purpose.
