It analyses the value of the cultural manifestations that traditional and popular games and sports represent as they constitute a cultural, material and immaterial wealth threatened by their disappearance, conditioned by the imposition of sports that globalise, impoverish and channel the natural expression of the collectives, annulling their idiosyncrasy and creativity and manipulating their temperament and their needs. The second part describes some traditional Aragonese games and sports and their circumstances. Its content has been recovered from a research work that has used both specialised bibliographic sources and information gathered from primary oral sources that were interviewed with the aim of recovering the direct testimony of the characteristics and circumstances of each of the games and sports referred to.
Jorge MORADELL ÁVILA Copyright (c) 2025 2025-07-03 2025-07-03 18 1 1 20 10.15366/citius2025.18.1.001 CHALLENGES OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE FOR PHYSICAL CULTURE AND SPORTS EDUCATION https://revistas-new.uam.es/caf/article/view/22197
In this article, the origin and evolution of Artificial Intelligence is based on the challenges, potentialities and perspectives of Artificial Intelligence in general, and on its uses and applications in the context of physical culture and sport. Examining how these factors interrelate provides a comprehensive view of athletes' habits, physical and mental health, and personal and professional balance. Objective: To determine the relationship between quality of life and its dimensions and the lifestyles of a population of Colombian taekwondo practitioners. Methodology: This study adopted a non-experimental, descriptive-correlational, and cross-sectional quantitative approach, conducted in a population of Colombian taekwondo practitioners. Quality of life was assessed using the WHOQOL-bref instrument, and lifestyles were measured using the Fantastic questionnaire. Results: A positive and significant correlation was found between lifestyles and overall quality of life (Rho = 0.310, p = 0.001), as well as with the physical (Rho = 0.215, p = 0.029), social relationships (Rho = 0.248, p = 0.011), and environmental dimensions (Rho = 0.354, p = 0.000). No significant correlations were found with health-related quality of life or the psychological dimension. In conclusion, the results show that taekwondo practitioners with healthy lifestyles have a better quality of life, especially in the physical, social, and environmental dimensions. Most participants maintained positive lifestyle habits.
Guillermo Andrés SÁEZ ABELLO Andrés Mauricio ARIZA VIVIESCAS William DUARTE TORO Paul Sebastián ONCE SACA Felipe Andrés ROSAS TREUQUE Copyright (c) 2025 2025-07-03 2025-07-03 18 1 39 56 10.15366/citius2025.18.1.003 GAME: A CURRENTLY APPLICABLE COUBERTINIAN TEACHING STRATEGY FOR THE PHYSICAL EDUCATION OF SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS https://revistas-new.uam.es/caf/article/view/22214
Following a research process on the teaching of Physical Education at the secondary school IES ROJO—employing document analysis, semi-structured interviews with teachers and students, and non-participant observation—several critical weaknesses were identified: (1) low student motivation toward the subject; (2) limited student engagement during lessons; and (3) a predominance of traditional instructional approaches that offer minimal student autonomy. In response to these findings, a didactic program was developed as an intervention proposal for students in the fourth year of compulsory secondary education. This program is grounded in active learning methodologies and game-based teaching strategies, aiming to foster greater student involvement and autonomy in the learning process.
Marta ROBLES GONZÁLEZ Luis Fernando MARTÍNEZ-MUÑOZ Copyright (c) 2025 2025-07-03 2025-07-03 18 1 57 88 10.15366/citius2025.18.1.004 RUTH CHEPNGETICH: ANALYSIS OF THE 2024 CHICAGO MARATHON WORLD RECORD https://revistas-new.uam.es/caf/article/view/22215
This article presents an important sporting milestone that occurred a few months ago in Chicago (USA). For the first time in history, a woman has broken the 2:10 barrier in the marathon. This mark is an important and significant time for any male marathon specialist. Kenyan athlete Ruth Chepngetich was the architect of this achievement. This article analyzes how she achieved such a fantastic time: her 5 km split times; her intermediate half marathon split times; her 5 km split times in the second half marathon and her loss of speed in these final stretches; and a comparison of her 5 km, 10 km, half marathon, and marathon pace times with her previous personal bests at these distances. Her athletic history and development over the years are also analyzed. Finally, a set of factors that intervene and affect sports performance are analyzed, which allow us to explain the result obtained, and which aim to help reflect on what this milestone means and the circumstances in which it occurred.
Dionisio ALONSO CURIEL Copyright (c) 2025 2025-07-03 2025-07-03 18 1 89 95 10.15366/citius2025.18.1.005 EXPOSICIÓN “La historia de una tríada de exclusión o superación: discapacidad, mujer y deporte” https://revistas-new.uam.es/caf/article/view/22217 María Teresa CALLE MOLINA Copyright (c) 2025 2025-07-03 2025-07-03 18 1 95 104
