The objective of this article is to reflect on the polysemy that the concept of «border» entails today and its interrelation with other phenomena to which it is usually linked, such as: cultural division (and dialogue), violence and, finally, the impact that this unfavorable situation has on the construction of the individual's own personality, leading to feelings of uprooting and alienation. We will focus on the novel Todo eso es yo, which reflects the complexity of this term from one of the borders that, unfortunately, has dominated the media in recent years: the border between Mexico and the United States.
