Abstract
Ignacio Szmolka's book , Tánger 1936-1945. La ciudad internacional frente a la nueva España franquista is not only a valuable contribution to the historiography on Franco's regime, but also an original research on life in the international city and the interplay of relations that the different powers maintained in the crucial period of the 20th century between 1936 and 1945.
