Abstract
The hegemonic structure on which our society is built is a prison. So much so that "the culture in which we live is, perhaps, the most claustrophobic of how many have existed before. In the present culture of globalization, [...] there is no glimpse of any other place or of any other modality "(Berger, 1999, p.3). Capitalism - present in all social spheres - sets in motion all the machinery at its disposal for the preservation of its model of intellectual and cultural domination through neoliberal technicalism, presenting itself as the necessary option, without possible alternatives or any hope of change . A world in flames lacking a horizon in which to establish new hegemonic forms of control and social domination, not so much through coercion as "thanks to the consent of the class subordinated to the authority of the ruling class" (McLaren, 1984, p. 276).Downloads
