Abstract

Mathematics is isolated in the school context. It is regarded as "no man's land" somewhere between Science and Humanities.
A new role to be played by Mathematics is suggested: it sould be used as an integrative knowledge between Science and Humanities. Some ideas are given on how Mathematics can play this new role, more specifically, how new connections can be established between Mathematics and Literature.
