The archaeological site of Saruq al Hadid (Dubai. United Arab Emirates, III-I millennium BC) is characterized as the main metallurgical factory in the region. Metallic objects are counted in the thousands, with a large volume of copper-based alloying elements.
Among many, a set of small bowls stand out, seriously affected by the deformations and tensions of the burial, which have led to chronic alterations in their structure. In addition, the particular climatic conditions of its context have generated very significant corrosion products that have completely modified its morphology and have hidden a profuse incised decoration.
The Art & Conservation team of restorers has dedicated a whole year of work in this country to ensure the stability of the containers, facing the challenge of preserving and respecting the characteristics of these alloys combined with a very delicate engraved decorative technique.
Some archaeological objects unique in their category and territory have been recovered and revalued, which serve as a very important historical witness of the artisan tradition of the area.
