Abstract

The study of creativity appears for the first time in History within the Pedagogy joined to the formation. We consider that "De Institutione Oratoria" -work in twelve volumes written by Quintiliano between years 93 and 96- is the first manual of Didactics. The author outlines a curriculum for the teaching of oratory, defines a methodology, which starts from the first years of life, and stops especially in the training of the speaker. With the antecedent of Aristotle - who also refers to it, albeit weakly -, his books III and IV, dedicated to the "Inventio" (one of the five phases of the activity of the rethor, professor and expert in oratory) constitute the first systematic study on creativity applied to teaching.
