Abstract

This article looks at the ways in which gender dynamics have shaped and been shaped by the Houthis (Ansar Allah) in Yemen from the 2011 uprisings to the present day. In particular, it addresses the questions on how the roles and participation of women have been changing to better respond to new challenges and needs related to the war of 2015 and the Houthis' goal of seizing state power and build a nation according to their own ideological interests.
