Abstract
This interview with Christian Laval approaches key aspects of his educational research and allows us to reconstruct the deployment of the political engagement that has guided his professional career. The dialogue focuses on the paradigm of neoliberal education, and its importance as a theoretical model for a comprehensive and critical interpretation of the conditions of possibility for a change of paradigm, towards a truly democratic education that would enable a problematization and questioning of the capitalist social order. The role of the State and public services, progressive legacies, collective action, and the educational struggles are therefore questioned and reconsidered.
