Abstract

This paper has the goal of presenting a first reflection on the problems of High School Biology teaching in the system linked to the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and to confront this experience to the same educational systems in Spain and Canada. This confrontation of Biology educational systems allows us to construct a first proposal about the challenge faced by Biology teaching in this educational level for this institution in Mexico. At the same time, it permits us to analyse how the area of Biology in the Faculty of Sciences and ENP, through the program named PAAS, has contributed to solve these problems.
